Coonawarra Riesling is an unsung hero and this fresh, zippy vintage shows how delicious Riesling can be.
The 2009 growing season experienced slightly below average temperatures and dry conditions producing fruit in excellent condition. The resultant Sauvignon Blanc flavours are typically fruity with subtle herbaceous and mineral notes while the wine displays a supple richness on the palate.
Katnook was one of the first to release this variety in Australia. Incredibly vibrant as a young wine or will age gracefully up to eight years.
Released as an ‘intense and opulent’ Coonawarra Shiraz, this wine is showing lovely earthy notes and fine, dusty tannins – a wine which has earned its pedigree to cellar for a decade or more. Enjoy now.
NEW RELEASE: Steeped in heritage and tradition, the Katnook Estate range of premium quality, single varietal wines are crafted from selected distinguished vineyards and express the classic and unique characteristics of the Coonawarra wine region.
Katnook Estate range is represented in the ‘Excellent’ category of Langton’s VI, Classification of Australian Wine.
A special magnum of beautifully cellared Odyssey Cabernet - released in 1999, and which has been evolving gracefully over the past two decades. A classically structured palate with complex aromas and still an impressive balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. Museum wine at its best.
2002 was an exquisite vintage to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this iconic Coonawarra Cabernet. Noted for its power, sinew and concentration, the 2002 Odyssey showcases just how well Katnook Cabernets can age. A wine you will remember.
The 2003 Coonawarra was similar to the 2002
vintage. Climatically, the season was just below average
temperatures and generally dry, yields were again disappointingly
low and quality was very good. The combination of very low
yields, small berries and a long mild and dry ripening period
has produced wines rich in varietal fruit flavours with fine soft
tannins. The wines have excellent colour, good palate structure,
generous fruit flavour and varietal distinction.
