Rated 95 points by Halliday and 90+ points by Robert Parker, Amara 2012 is a small batch, single vineyard Cabernet, harvested from 40-year-old vines. Drinking well now, this is a wine which has the concentration to keep evolving and still be enjoyed in another few years.
This small batch wine is available in tiny quantities - exclusively from the winery. It is harvested from 42-year-old vines of the 'Coonawarra Selection' clone.

Coonawarra’s 2010 vintage was hailed as exceptional and this Cabernet was awarded was 91 points in E-Robert Parker in 2014. This wine still reflects its quality heritage, showing excellent colour, generous flavours and fine, lingering tannins.
2008 Coonawarra vintage is remembered not only for the seasonal variability but the ripe outstanding fruit flavours. During veraison, slightly above average temperatures and dry conditions produced fruit in excellent condition.
Harvest of Chardonnay was approximately one week earlier than usual and the grapes were in pristine condition, disease-free and near optimum ripeness. The wines have attractive ripe varietal expression, with the vibrant stone fruit flavours expected of the variety.
Remembered as quite a warm vintage, this 2008 Merlot is still showing generous fruit flavours, excellent colour and fine soft tannin structures. Enjoy it now.
2012 was an early vintage at the Katnook winery, commencing at the beginning of February. The warmer than normal growing season from October to April helped lead to the earlier ripening and ideal flavour development, which was aided by very little rain and no disease pressure during harvest.

The 2009 growing season experienced slightly below average temperatures and dry conditions producing fruit in excellent condition. The resultant Sauvignon Blanc flavours are typically fruity with subtle herbaceous and mineral notes while the wine displays a supple richness on the palate.
Released as an ‘intense and opulent’ Coonawarra Shiraz, this wine is showing lovely earthy notes and fine, dusty tannins – a wine which has earned its pedigree to cellar for a decade or more. Enjoy now.
A special magnum of beautifully cellared Odyssey Cabernet - released in 1999, and which has been evolving gracefully over the past two decades. A classically structured palate with complex aromas and still an impressive balance between fruit, tannins and acidity. Museum wine at its best.
