Lying in the heart of Coonawarra's finest soils, Katnook’s vineyards are within the Coonawarra GI (Geographic Indication) region of South Australia. Our vines are carefully nurtured by Senior Viticulturist Chris Brodie and his team. Our aim is to achieve the very best quality fruit from the vineyards whilst sustaining their precious environment. We adopt sustainable production methods, ensuring that we support other plant species and organisms with whom we share our space.
Our vineyards have Entwine Accreditation which is Australia's official wine environmental assurance program. Katnook’s 180 hectares include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot and Pinot Noir in the reds and white varietals of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. New plantings include Malbec and Tempranillo highlight the diversity of Coonawarra’s terroir. For more details on our vineyards, click here.

Katnook's viticultural management systems take into account the four key elements for optimal grape quality: water, plant nutrition, pest and disease control and sunlight. Progressive trials such as vine canopy and water management are integral to our fruit quality.
Viticulturist Chris Brodie says "Katnook has 100 vineyard sections or management units, each requiring specialised management and attention, so the challenges and opportunities are constant. When we supply grape quality to the winemakers that surpasses their expectation we know our plans and trials have been successful."
