Venue: Space@Collins Melbourne

Katnook is proud to support the Snap Red for MS challenge, which will both raise funds for MS and produce an exhibition of pictures that tells an emotive story featuring the colour red as inspiration. Read all about it here.

From the entries, 30 finalists will be chosen for Gala exhibition in Melbourne on Sunday May 7th from 3-6pm and the winners will be announced by an esteemed team of judges.

Red is the colour of passion, love, royalty and energy (AND WINE!).  It is a colour that draws you in to feel an emotional response.  This competition invites photographers to produce a picture around the theme of red that creates an emotional response from the audience.

Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to be featured in an exhibition but it will raise much-needed funds for a great cause MS.  Tickets to enter the exhibition are $25 and can be purchased here.

Gala Night at the Opera Melbourne
6:00 PM to 11:00 PM     Mon, 15/05/2017
Venue: Melbourne Arts Centre
Contact: Anna Aldridge +61 3 9682 5000,

Join Katnook for a VIP Gala Night at the Opera - celebrating our status as official wine for Opera Australia and giving you the chance to meet the stars of the show.  This year, we've chosen 'CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA / PAGLIACCI' so roll up for a double dose of operatic desperation and drama in this classic double bill of tragedies with stories that cut all too close to home.  Diego Torre sings the famous 'Vesti la giubba' as he performs both challenging tenor roles in one evening, and the Opera Australia Chorus sings the famous Easter Hymn as Dragana Radakovic's voice soars above.

The night includes:

  • Welcome by Katnook and Opera Australia over light 3 course dinner and wine in the Arts Centre forecourt.
  • A Reserve seats, one program per couple.
  • Katnook served at interval in the VIP lounge. Taste our new releases.
  • Private drinks post performance with some of the stars of the Show, including the chance to taste our flagship Odyssey Cabernet and Prodigy Shiraz.

Tickets strictly limited and offered on a first come-first served basis. $225pp or $195 pp Cellar Club members.

In a small Italian town, lusting after someone who is not yours is a dangerous game. And falling in love? Even more treacherous. Two short operas explore the full spectrum of emotion: passionate love, consuming lust, bitter suffering and boundless rage.

This Olivier Award-winning co-production with the Royal Opera House lays bare the raw heart of each opera — ordinary people, driven by emotion to the limits of what we know is human. The result is pure catharsis: everyday tragedy writ large on stage.

A young Japanese geisha falls head-over-heels in love with her new American husband. She believes their love is real, even after three years without so much as a word from him. Everyone around her knows the truth. They try to convince her to move on but she won't. She can't. Rejected by her past, and forgotten by the man she loves, she waits.

Madama Butterfly is one of the world's most famous love stories and this legendary production has been performed in Sydney more than any other. The set and costume design is inspired by Japan and the combination of wood, water, silk and flame is astonishingly elegant. Now it comes to the Capitol Theatre for a short season.

Karah Son and Hyesoung Kwon sing Puccini's much-loved music, breathtakingly beautiful from first love to tragic end.
