Nested in the heart of Coonawarra, just 6 kilometres north of Penola on the Riddoch Highway, a warm welcome awaits at Katnook’s historic Cellar Door.
Coonawarra Wine region founder John Riddoch once ran his flourishing fruit colony from Katnook’s current cellar door, built in the late 1800’s and set amongst the vines. More than a century later, visitors can experience Riddoch’s beautifully renovated building, featuring local stone and timbers. These same buildings are also available for weddings and functions, click here for more details.
Today our Cellar Door offers free tastings, cheese platters, coffee and tea. Our lounge area with open fire in winter is the perfect place to unwind. Adjacent to Cellar Door is our award winning 'terra rossa pit', where you can see Coonawarra's famous soil profile and learn why it is so important to wine flavour.
Katnook Cellar Door is open every day of the year except New Year's Day and Good Friday. Weekdays 10am til 5pm and weekends noon - 5pm. We hope to welcome you soon.
